I can really use some help big time. | | Distinguished Member with 5,186 posts. | | Join Date: May 2005 Location: Super Bowl & Stanley Cup Experience: ,The Jimi Hendrix |

#12 | Which model of Dell? Do you also have the drivers CD?
If you reinstall Windows you'll wipe out everything on your hard drive. Do you have a way to back up files that you'll want to save, like an external hard drive or burning CD's or DVD's. | | Senior Member with 226 posts. | | Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Canada Experience: Slowly but surely |

#14 | OK, then backup everything you want to save on the thumb drive.
Read through this step-by-step guide on how to reinstall XP on a Dell, you also might want to print it out to have as a guide when you reinstall. http://support.dell.com/support/topi...C&docid=339949
You'll have to reinstall all other programs so make sure you save any install programs and registration keys you might need. | | Senior Member with 226 posts. | | Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Canada Experience: Slowly but surely |
