Redirected to MySpace??
Hi Guys - anyone had this issue or know of a fix??

I'll search for "Something" using Google....

When I click on one of the links to go to a page I'm interedted in, I get redirected to myspace vids or music.
A couple of the pages I get directed to: full link not included - do you need to see these?
http://vids.myspace.com/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
http://music.myspace.com/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

It's not always myspace - but this is the one that comes up most often.
This doesn't always happen - it does also go to the page I want to ook at - at times - but is occurring more & more often........

I have obviouls run virus scan a number of times [AVG Free] + Windows Defender + CCleaner.

Currently using XP pro SP3 with IE8 on Toshiba Satellite A100 Notebook.

Greatly appreciate any help!!

Thanks

i would still look at using something else to scan maybe a on line one like - http://housecall.trendmicro.com/au/ or the USA equivlant but only one i know that does not make you buy stuff to get rid of everything, not saying it wont encourage you to buy something i just ignore those.

I would strongly recommend you downloading the latest version of HiJackThis, and post that log in the malware section.

Be sure and include all the information you have included here, including what sites you are being redirected to.

Please click "Report" in the lower right and then ask that your Thread be transfered to the "Security/HJT" Forum. Do not create a second Thread there yourself. "Dups" are definitely a "no,no" here at TSG.

I have downloaded the installer for hijackhis 2.02.

Installs - but refuses to run!

I'm beginning to feel like a beginner all over again........

The folks who help with security problems do not always ask for a "HJT." I would follow my suggestion first, possibly saving the need for a "HJT" log.
