Angry programs will not connect to internet
I am having an annoying problem. I tryed to update my computer. When I intstall the update my IE will not work. I am connected to the internet my news feeds work and my IM programs connect but the internet explorer doesnt. So I uninstalled all the updates and my computer is out of date. I am also having the problem with my programs microsoft works, google earth and other programs cannot detect my internet conncections I have allowed them as exceptions and looked every where I could please help! I cannot do anything but surf the web. HELP! I have Vista

I am connected via DSL modem connected wirelessly through my router on my Laptop The internet says I am connecting and there is a server problem or networking problem Thank you for help

Please post the results of running ipconfig /all and ping google.com .

What my virus scan? or my troubleshooting virus scan says it removed trash and windows scan says that it is a networking problem and to contact my internet provider I did that and MY ISP says that it is not their problem I called my router peopple they say its not their problem and I called my gateway ppl and tey just had me do a recovery

Well most of the time virus causes some problems on the computer and one of them is the internet's connection. so giving it a try wouldn't do something bad but instead you might know what really is wrong. But have you tried what JPCompHelp ask you to do with IP configuring.

Im really computer dumb. I do not think it is a virus I have been having problems for a long time I hope it is not a virus that is all I need

Yes they said because I am connected to the internet it is not their problem. I cannot even use AIM And windowslive messanger now this stinks

"it is not their problem" What kind of a sick ISP is that. Are you sure you are not just using any local internet?

Well any way to looks of it you need to reset the internet connection. Can you ask you ISP to do that?

You run the ipconfig /all command the same way you ran ping. Just post the results here.
