Solved: Windows Media Player Instant Play. (Quicktime?)
In IE8, when clicking on an mp3 hyperlink, Windows Media Player (WMP) is activated to play the music or whatever. The problem for me is that WMP waits until the file is completely downloaded before starting to play. Quicktime, for example, starts playing immediately, while downloading.

Two questions:

1. Is there a setting somewhere to cause WMP to start playing immediately when activated by IE8?
2. Failing that, how can I have IE8 use Quicktime instead?

Thanks,

Daniel

Set QuickTime as your default media player.

I made Quicktime my default mp3 player.
I thought I had done this before. It worked this time. I did 2 things:

1. Went to Start > Set Program Access and Dfaults > Custom and made Quicktime the default media player. Just to make sure, set Windows Media Player as not enabled.
2. I made sure that files ending in mp3 would be handled by Quickime.

The first item was probably enough.

Thanks,

Daniel
