Youtube not accessible

I have not been able to access Youtube the recent week. When I try to access the site, all that happens is that the browser (FireFox 3.5.2) is constantly loading and showing a blank page. This problem happened suddenly. I can ping Youtube without any issues - no packets are lost.

Does anyone out there sit on the solution, if so; please share your knowledge.

Have you checked your HOSTS file?

How strange, it seems to have been replaced by a sample hosts file. There is only one unticked, valid line which is localhost.

Should I add anything to it?

This should have been what I checked first; youtube works perfectly fine in IE. So it seems to be a Firefox problem.

Your HOSTS file is ok.

Do you have the Adobe Flash Player for Firefox? There's one for IE and one for non-IE.

Yes, I can also view flash video on any other sites. I just cannot get into youtube. Only a blank screen shows up and FireFox loads the page forever. I can't even see any text, html or pictures.

UPDATE: I can suddenly enter the site again. Mysterious...
