I Can't access microsoft.com
I've searched through many topics with google and from this site and nothing so far has worked. I can't access anything linked to microsoft.com

I was trying to watch a netflix movie online and after calling support for an error, we found out that i can't access the microsoft server which is why i can't play the movies. Turns out, from the reasons i wouldn't be able to access it, i may have bigger problems then not watching movies xD

after cleaning my PC a bit, windows XP btw, I ran hijack.

Try this:

Add the following,

http://*.update.microsoft.com
https://*.update.microsoft.com
http://download.windowsupdate.com

to the trusted sites list in Internet Options (Internet Options -> Security tab -> click on Trusted Sites and then Sites) and try again.

Also, read this.

If no luck,

Try connecting to Microsoft in Safe Mode with Networking.

If it works, we'll be able to rule out a network problem and look into other things.

Try downloading an alternative browser (Mozilla Firefox) and attempting to access the Microsoft website from there. If this works, then it is a problem with Internet Explorer. If this fails, then there is a wider problem with your system setup.

Are you sure you don't have any programs that block access to the Microsoft website (safety, web-monitoring software, such as NetNanny, if you have kids). Again, are you sure that you haven't blocked the sites in Internet Explorer?

Good luck
