internet stops after 10 mins
hi,

any help on the following annoying topic would be much appreciated

after exactly 10 minutes of wireless internet use windows internet explorer stops workin and wont load up any new pages. there is still full connectivity according to the system. my internet runs at 54Mbs and is still connected however it only seems to have the power to run msn messenger and nothing else. if i restart my laptop it works again fine for another 10 mins.

i only recently started using a netgear router but when i was at uni it worked fine on their wireless system. the router uses 2.4Hz speed but my laptop is old and runs at 1.6Hz so i dnt know if that is a problem

please help

we can do some ping test when its working and disconnected

Check the firewall to see if the router or modem or router/modem is listed and has trusted rights.
Your ISP renews your IP address every so many days and it has to have rights and it gives you temp rights so it can be renewed and that is the 10 min's you have and it runs out.

Also if any router etc is added or taken away you need to renew your IP address.

Q: How do I release and renew my IP address on my computer?
