When I correspond with certain people, both of our computers add lines down the side when we hit Reply. The only way to get rid of them is to copy the text & start a new email. I'm using OE 6, and in one case the other person is using some Mac program (or possibly she goes online to Verizon, her carrier, & uses their email program. She's not clear on what does her email - her son set it up). What's causing those annoying lines? (The text also becomes one entity that I could delete by clicking somewhere in the text & hitting Delete.)

Those "lines" indicate the email was either replyed to or forwarded.
In OE if you do not want the lines, go here and turn them off:

OE->Tools->Send Tab.
If you are setup in HTML click that button-> make sure Indent is
unchecked.

If you are in Text Mode click that button-> make sure Indent is
unchecked.
