Cannot reply or forward in Outlook
I am a seasoned user of e-mail, but am stumped by this one. I have a lap top with Windows Vista. In Outlook Express, if I try to forward or reply to a message, it goes directly to my outbox and stays. I have tried everything and young and old have gone through my settings. We are bumfuzzled. Can anyone help.

Thanks.

Make sure that if you are using the right email client. Click help then click about (whatever the name of the program is). You'll either be using 'Windows Mail' our a 'Microsoft Outlook 200x product'

The after you have determined what email client you use, try to get us the error logs. It should hopefully open a window describing what the issue is.

After reporting this information I'm sure we will be able to help a little better.

As I said in my post, I am using Microsoft Outlook. I can not find what #. There are no error messages. My replies and forwards go directly to the inbox instead of to the intended reciever.
Thanks-

GoHogs49,

1)
What zurh is trying to get is step 1) What are you using - In one place you state that you are using Outlook, and in another you state that you are using Outlook Express - they are two very different E-Mail programs.

Outlook Express:
1. In Outlook Express, click About Microsoft Outlook Express on the Help menu.
2. In the dialog box, note the version number above the copyright notice.

Outlook:
1. In Outlook, click About Microsoft Outlook on the Help menu.
2. In the dialog box, note the version number above the copyright notice.

2) It would be helpful if you state who is responsible for the mail server - Is it your Internet Service provider (ISP) or are you using gmail, yahoo, AT&T Yahoo or other?

Microsoft Outlook Express 6 is what I'm using. Thanks for helping me find this. My e-mail server is Cox. net. I called then about the problem and they said I would have to get tech support from Microsoft Outlook.

Thanks you.

asuss06,

Glad you fixed your Outlook connector problem, but GoHogs49 is using Outlook Express 6.

GoHogs49,

Please try this as you likely have a corrupt Outbox:

Create a new Outbox folder:

With Outlook Express closed:
Search your hard drive for Outbox.dbx and rename it to Outbox.dbx.old or delete it.
Restart Outlook Express. A new empty outbox folder is created automatically.
Test to see if this fixes the problem, if not report back.

I think we need to start all over again. User staes in the first post they are in Windows Vista using Outlook Express and that is an impossibility so I can't help but wonder what else is wrong in this thread.
