hotmail hacker deleted everything
Hi my dad's had his hotmail account hacked in to and all his contacts and e-mails subfolders etc have been deleted
is there any way of restoring these or retrieving them?
i have tried the windows live support line but the page wont load.

You should be asking how did the hacker gain access to your hotmail account, are you sure you are not infected with a keylogger?
Please run Hijack This and
do not fix anything
just post the log in this forum. Afterwards click on the thread tools and ask for this thread be moved to "Malware Removal & HJT Logs"
Do not do any online banking or for that matter enter a username and password into any website until it is confirmed that you do not have keylogger installed.
You should seriously consider also changing all passwords for online accounts
from a different machine
that have been used on the possibly infected machine.

Might not be hacked at all. It wouldn't be the first time Hotmail loses everything in an e-mail account. It happened to me a few years back, before I decided to dump Hotmail for good.

Another possibility if the account was hacked is by phishing, have you received an email asking for your hotmail username and password?

If this is the case try contacting Windows Live hotmail support

and explain the situation and ask if they can restore your files.
