Solved: Dealio Toolbar - Prevents Google From Being Default Search in IE
Somehow I got the dealio toolbar as an add in to IE8. It was preventing me from keeping Google as my "default" IE search engine. It wanted Yahoo. I deleted Yahoo as an add in and it would go to another search provider other than Google.

I removed dealio toolbar with Revo Uninstaller and can now set and keep Google as my default search engine.

What was funny is that dealio was not enabled as an add in or toolbar. I may have got it when I downloaded The Weather Channel add in.

If you have a problem with IE searches, see if you have dealio. Remove it and see if things are better.
