Outlook 2003
Using Outlook 2003 inside of a domain, when emailing to someone outside of the domain, after 17 replies my email name, address will disappear. I continue to see their name, address, they no longer see mine and start a new thread. I've found this on other forum but never an answer. Can anyone here help.
Thank You

Hiya

Are you still having this problem? If so, you mention that they have to start a new thread.

Are you using Newsgroups or is this just a general email to someone?

Is this your domain or part of a network at work/school?

Regards

Still having the issue, not using a newsgroup. This is a work email, all is normal from my end but on the other end the name and address are missing after about 17 sends and replies, they either start a new thread or manually insert the address.

Ah, think I know what you mean, it gets further and further to one side, so it becomes all jumbled together.

See if this helps:

In Outlook, in the Tools menu, select Options.
In the first tab, Preferences, look at the Email section, and click on Email Options.

In there, look at On Replies and Forwards. Is the first and second drop down menu's set to Include and Ident original Message Text?

If so, change that to Include original message Text and OK.

Now, do a couple of tests to yourself. Just type some random words, and send it to yourself.

Then, reply to it a few times, or the 17 it happens with, and see if that's okay

Thanks for the reply, the email message itself is there and fine, it's the senders name and address that come up missing. when the person goes to reply there is no name address to reply too.

Ok, is this with just one person, or with all external email contacts?

As you're at work, is there anyone else that is seeing the same problem, or is it just your Outlook?

So far it's just My wife, she is the only email contact outside of work that I keep in touch with. She also uses Outlook and it's only on her end that the address disappears, when I get replies from her it's all normal. I would guess a setting either on her exchange server or mine but don't have access to hers so can only check the servers on this end.

As its on your wife's computer, can she try the above options, to see if it will help her?

If she changes both the Reply and Forward to Include original message Text , that may solve the problem.

It may not actually be the Exchange server, but a general setting in her Outlook.

Any problems, let me know.

Hmmm....

Just trying to get this in my minds eye, so to speak.

Is this happening when she presses the Reply button, and its not there anymore (email details)?

Or, is she typing in your name in the To field, and normally it autocompletes the address but after 17 emails, it ceases to show it?

If its the latter, have a look at this:

I will have her try that although the name, address fields are there each time and then completely empty, it's only then that she has to start manually filling the name, address fields or start a new thread.
