I have been trying to reset my IP address but have had issues. I have MS vista and I have tried EVERYTHING on this site but I still have the error message:
"no operation can be performed on Local Area Connection while it has its media disconnected."

I reset all of my TCP/IP items
I got a new cable
I removed all of my erroneous programs

Please help! I work from home and so far I have not charged a dime today!

Did you delete the Network Adapter and refresh Device manager?


Does it say the Device is Working properly?

Do you have the most recent driver?

Is there a switch on the other end?

Are you plugged into a known good switch port or live network port?

Is the NIC bad?

Hi there -- not sure why but when I turned off my home PC the laptop works fine now. We never use the home PC only when the laptop has an issue so we are good to go now. Thank you for your help!
