New Tab Displays Frequent Visits
Running Internet Explorer 8 under Windows 7, home premium.
Whenever I open a new tab in an IE-8 window a bunch of the "Most Visited" sites pops up for selection.
I am deleting everything I can think of, closing IE-8. Opening IE-8 on my home page, doing another Safety>Delete browsing history, and the next time I open a new tab, the same blasted list shows up.
How can I make sure I clear out this list every time I close IE-8; either automatically, or manually?
Thanks.

Did you install Google toolbar?

Check your tab settings, Tools>Internet Options> Tabs, settings

I see nothing in that widow about using history for the thumbnail selection options. Is that behavior a forced one if I elect to enable tabbed browsing?

No, I use tabbed browsing, does not do it for me, the only reference to "Most Visited Sites" and browsers , refers to Google toolbar being installed in IE or Firefox.

In google toolbar options Uncheck "Enable the Google new tab page"
