help with hotfile !
Hello everybody

Recently, i could not download any files off hotfile, which i could without any problems before. The message that i reached my limit, i have to wait for 30 mins or im parallel downloading constatly comes up whenever i want to download a file.

Most of the time,i wait for the 30 mins countdown, and refresh the page, it tells me to wait 30 minutes again. Sometimes when it finally loads and i click download, it says im parallel downloading .. although im not.

Hotfile says this problem is related to my ip..but i dont understand what has caused it to work before and not now. Im not using any proxy or shared ip. I also tried the flush dns, ip renew methods but its not working.

I then called my service provider.. and they said that there is nothing i can do about this problem.

I have many important files which i need to download off hotfile and it has became very inconvienent that i cant use it since rapidshare and megaupload does not work for me. Please, some help would be greatly appreciated !

There is nothing that you can do on your end to reset their counter. It will return to normal in a day or so. Your IP address is now flagged as being "in process" and that is a feature of the web site. You can only access it from a different IP.

That sort of error happens. Once flagged, they only reset after a period of time. Most file storage sites do it after one day, but each has its own protocols.

The point is that there is nothing you can do from your end to change it, except to get your files through someone else's connection, or until you are assigned a different IP by your ISP (unless you have a static IP), or, they unflag you.

You can mark your own threads "solved" using the button above.

Still nothing, huh? Try emailing them.

Only a couple of ideas.
Change your ISP. You should then be able to download.
Use a friend's computer to get the files.

On rereading this thread, it is beginning to become obvious to me that if you were using that site purely for file storage, you would not also have accounts at the other sites you mentioned. As you may know, we do not support downloading pirated content and it seems that is really all you could be downloading if other sites suffice you.

So, closing this thread, as per the rules about file-sharing.
