Don't know about your connection but I have never used a port number other than 25 in OE.

Edit: Why not try port 25? No harm will be done and you can always go back and change it.

Has this (outgoing mail) worked for you but stopped working? You have a premium, or whatever the paid version is called, service with Yahoo!, right?

What is a "web error"? What action did you take to try to save email to your documents?

Terry: I simply went to page at the top right of Y mail, clicked save as; pick a file in my docs. to save in and hit save......acts like it's sending file then the web error pops up. X this webpage cannot be saved. That is all it says????

Outlook express doesn't work either.

Maybe, I just don't know what I am doing. Can you tell me the easiest way to save emails sent to me? And all I do for Outlook Express is right click word doc. and email window pops up and it thinks for a min. The the previous error i sent shows up?????

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!!!!!

You certainly lost me. Is this in OE or a web browser? When I read Yahoo! mail using Firefox I have no "save as" in the top right. And, you shouldn't be trying to save it to an existing file; just use the default name and save it in a folder.

I don't have the premium Yahoo! so can't experiment with an email client.

terry: No I do not have the paid version. outlook does not even work when I type a doc. that I need to send to someone. I click email and outlook pops up, I type in recp. address; it acts like it's sending then I get the origianl msg I sent in.

Then the yahoo thing about saving rec'd msg. somewhere permanent. What is the proper way to save a rec'd msg.. Maybe I just need to start over and someone tell me how they do it. I tried to do it myself and it's not working.

This Yahoo! Help page includes:

Quote:
The ability to access Yahoo! Mail using an email reader program such as Outlook, Eudora, or Thunderbird is only available to customers of our premium Yahoo! Mail Plus service.
If that's not clear, you cannot use OE or any other email client with the free Yahoo! mail service.

I experimented and discovered that with Firefox I can save a Yahoo! email message by clicking in the message and then clicking on File - Save Frame as... - and save it as type "Web page, complete."
