Please bear with me as I try to explain my problem. I use Windows XP, Service Pack 3. Firefox is my web browser. I am paranoid about always having the latest security and software updates.
I just switched to Firefox a few days ago after using IE8. I made the change based on the recommendation of "IT Guy" at work. I consulted "IT Guy" because I was (and still am) unable to access my work e-mail from home.
The company for whom I am employed has its own e-mail server. We employees were given user names and passwords and instructed to use Rockliffe's Mailsite Express Pro to remotely access our work e-mail.
It has worked splendidly for the past couple years. My problem began about a week or so ago, when I was unable to get my messages. The service lets me log in, but -- instead of my usual message screen -- all I get now is a blank page with the "Mailsite" logo at the top left.
"IT Guy" and my co-workers report no problems with the remote service. In fact, as a check I logged on to "Mailsite" from my work computer a few times this week and it behaved perfectly.
In addition to switching to Firefox, I have tried numerous things at home, including uninstalling some programs (such as the spyware), uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox and Java, disabling my virus protection and firewall, running the computer in Safe Mode, etc., etc., etc.
IT Guy thought that perhaps something is running in the background on my computer, but I can't figure out what it is. I have no problem with other websites, and the browser I use at home for my personal e-mail (I use Thunderbird) works beautifully. Please help. I need to access my company's e-mail server if I am to work from home!
