Exclamation Ever seen this? Help!
G'day

Since we changed to BigPond ADSL2+, every 30 or so webpages, this comes up (see atached)
Why does it happen?
I am really puzzled, even when i wait half and hour and go to a different link it says the same thing. I can only veiw a webpage after I exit the browser window and click internet explorer again. (I dont know if that helps)

Thanks

It is a bigpond adsl2 problem, give them a call, tell them the line is cutting/dropping out and they will "stabilize" it. It appears to be a known issue. I had the same problem

Yes, more or less, they stabilise the line straight away but takes 24 hours for it to come into effect. Just explain to them how the internet is cutting out all the time, they will be able to see this has happened from there end. We have the occasional cut out now, but more like once or maybe twice a week rather than several on a daily basis.

Ive heard that they just throttle your speed and then leave you in the dark. Did this happen to you?
Our adsl2+ speeds are not the best and i dont want them to cut it back down to our adsl speed since we recenty upgraded.

What they did was first check the line to make sure there are no faults, they do this while you are waiting on the phone. If no faults are showing they will then stabilise the line, which they did and in 24 hours, no more cut outs.

I have about 5 computers an only my sons was having extra slow speeds, turns out it was a program he had installed to speed things up and did the opposite. Australian speeds are not the best to begin with and we never get what we are meant to. Somtimes if you do go back a bit speed wise you actually end up with a faster speed as "add technical stuff that I cant explain" the lines etc are more capable of handling it, so give better performance.

Regardless of what people say about bigpond, I have always found them helpful and they should not leave you in the dark, you are paying for a service and they are "bound by law" to give you the service. Give them a call either way, they will not touch your speed unless you specifically give them permission to.
