Smile internet history
Hi

Once you have deleted temporary files, history, cookies under tools, options, is there anywhere else on the computer that still maintains a record of websites addresses that have been visited so that you can ascertain recent web sites that have been accessed?

thanks

Thanks kniht. After trying to access this folder, I am getting a message saying "access is denied". It's my home PC & I haven't set it up with any permissions and all users should have total access to all folders.

I have tried to change the setteing to allow file sharing for all users but it won't let me save the change. It's as though there is a higher order in the permissions on the PC. Are you able to suggest how I can remove all permissions & have access to all folders by all users. thanks again

One has to have Administrator rights to access the Content IE5 folder.

Hi kniht- I am administrator as I purchased & set up the computer. So I'm confused as to why there are the restrictions on folders that can be accessed when I didn't set it up like that.

I am 51 years old & not very tech saavy so would appreciate your help.

thanks
phil

Use Index.dat Suite to safely remove the files from throughout your system.

All temporary internet files from visited web pages are also still on the hard drive after being deleted until that drive space is used by something else and overwritten.

The registry has MRU entries for visited web pages, too.

You can also use a program like CCleaner to clear your cache.

As suggested by Elvandil, Index.dat Suite is another good program.
