BSODs while gaming
Alright, i've found myself in quite a pickle. Been to another tech support forum and they kind of dropped me so I wanted to hear another take on it.

My system has been constantly BSODing whenever I play a game. If its an older game, I can get 2 hours in, if its newer it goes in 5-10 minutes. I've tried cleaning my registry, system repair, system restore, I tested my memory and my hard drive, run just about every diagnostic I can think of. I driversweepered my ATI drivers and got fresh ones.

I was previously having problems where they system would just restart. But I got myself a new power supply to fix that. None the less I am at a total loss.

When my system BSODs, another problem is getting it to restart. If I try to do it immediately it either does not display anything (My monitor light remains amber) or it freezes at my motherboard startup screen.

I am attaching my latest memory dump, although sometimes it blue screens and freezes when trying to dump memory.

This minidump has a bug check code of 7E and these are the possible causes:

Insufficient disk space, Device driver, Video card, BIOS, Breakpoint with no debugger attached, Hardware incompatibility, Faulty system service, Memory, 3rd party remote control.

Please list the tests you have carried out and what software was used.

What version of DirectX do you have.

Are you using the latest Bios version and chipset drivers.

I do regular malwarebyte sweeps. I have done a 6 hour run of memtest. I've done sfc/scannow. I used seagate tools to check my hard drive. I also ran driver verifier. It BSODed at start and did not tell me what driver was at fault.

I run Direct X 11 and I updated my bios to the current version about two weeks ago, shortly after this problem popped up in earnest.

Try Prime95 and speedFan for CPU/GFX chips temerature. It might be overheating.

Please try to locate the minidump that was produced when you ran driver verifier and attach it to your next post for analysis. If you can't find it run driver verifier again.

I would also suggest running the Furmark test on your graphics card as the minidump I have already seen named a graphics related driver which can indicate a faulty graphics card.

Quote:
Download Furmark from here
FurMark Setup:
• If you have more than one GPU, select Multi-GPU during setup
• In the Run mode box, select "Stability Test" and "Log GPU Temperature"
• Click "Go" to start the test
• Run the test until the GPU temperature maxes out - or until you start having problems (whichever comes first).
NOTE: Set the alarm to go off at 90ºC. Then watch the system from that point on. If the system doesn't display a temperature, watch it constantly and turn it off at the first sign of video problems. DO NOT leave it unmonitored, it can DAMAGE your video card!!!
• Click "Quit" to exit
This guide tells you a bit more.
