Endless BSOD's I have been given the task to fix my daughters laptop. Its a HP Pavillion dv4 running Windows 7 Home Premium 64.
It started with my daughter getting several blue screens a day. She decided to do a recovery. During the process of the recovery, she encountered a blue screen. She was unable to read the error code because of it shutting down too quickly. When attempting to start everything looks fine...we get screen with 'Setup is now preparing your computer for first use' and then 'Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on tis computer restart the install'.
This is where I was asked to take over. We tried to run the recovery from the recovery disk and the hard drive many times. During this time I received several blue screens...one was 'Stop: 0x000000F7', another 'IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL'. and one 'Stop: C000021A'. I believe after the last one (Stop: C000021A) when booted we recieved 'BOOTMGR MISSING'. No dump files at this point...sorry. I was able to run the system diagnostics tests (F2) and all tests passed.
So...yesterday, we decided to just re-install windows. Downloaded and made a bootable dvd of an ISO file. Everything was going good...had to restart for the updates and...again blue screen. (dump file attached at this point). Booted in safe mode..everything good, no blue screens or errors. But, everytime I try and start in normal mode-blue screens in about 5-10 minutes....
Hope you can help us...
