I did that and when i went back to that conversation it is closed and I can't reply. I have had the computer into the shop 3 or 4 times. it has a new hard drive. | Hi and welcome. Either post the Minidump files. Look in c:\windows\minidump ZIP them and attach them to your next post. Right-click the minidump file, select Send To. Then select Compressed (zipped) Folder. Windows will compress the file and then save the new zipped file in the same location. Or download BlueScreenView http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html Download link at the bottom of the page. Download > install. Once it has scanned > Click on Edit > Select All > File > Save Selected Item It will open in Notepad - or save to Notepad > Copy > Paste and Post the last 5 minidump files from the scan. |

| to Blues_harp28 re BSOD thank you for helping me so much so far! i knew I had WinZip and just finally found registration information to get it going again. (i didn't know you sent me the 2nd email re: that other way to zip things) I am administrator on my computer. I am only person who uses this computer. permissions appears to say I have access to minidump folder. it won't give me access. I don't know what to do about that. I did download the other program you suggested. BlueScreenView and am attaching that file, I hope it contains as much information as the minidump ones that I can't seem to get to. well, I am pasting the files here, since I am unable to attach a file to this message. really, I am not usually this incompetent. ================================================== Dump File : 081312-24258-01.dmp Crash Time : 8/13/2012 7:35:35 AM Bug Check String : UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP Bug Check Code : 0x0000007f Parameter 1 : 0x0000000d Parameter 2 : 0x00000000 Parameter 3 : 0x00000000 Parameter 4 : 0x00000000 Caused By Driver : CI.dll Caused By Address : CI.dll+3600a File Description : Code Integrity Module Product Name : Microsoft® Windows® Operating System Company : Microsoft Corporation File Version : 6.1.7600.16385 (win7_rtm.090713-1255) Processor : 32-bit Crash Address : ntkrnlpa.exe+41d9b Stack Address 1 : CI.dll+3600a Stack Address 2 : Stack Address 3 : Computer Name : Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\081312-24258-01.dmp Processors Count : 2 Major Version : 15 Minor Version : 7601 Dump File Size : 145,672 ================================================== ================================================== Dump File : 071712-23493-01.dmp Crash Time : 7/17/2012 8:08:40 AM Bug Check String : NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM Bug Check Code : 0x00000024 Parameter 1 : 0x001904fb Parameter 2 : 0x8d30b980 Parameter 3 : 0x8d30b560 Parameter 4 : 0x82b2f87b Caused By Driver : Ntfs.sys Caused By Address : Ntfs.sys+1a9af File Description : NT File System Driver Product Name : Microsoft® Windows® Operating System Company : Microsoft Corporation File Version : 6.1.7600.16385 (win7_rtm.090713-1255) Processor : 32-bit Crash Address : ntkrnlpa.exe+dee9c Stack Address 1 : Ntfs.sys+1a9af Stack Address 2 : Ntfs.sys+af443 Stack Address 3 : ntkrnlpa.exe+7da6b Computer Name : Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\071712-23493-01.dmp Processors Count : 2 Major Version : 15 Minor Version : 7601 Dump File Size : 145,720 ================================================== ================================================== Dump File : 070912-44647-01.dmp Crash Time : 7/9/2012 10:35:02 AM Bug Check String : KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED Bug Check Code : 0x1000008e Parameter 1 : 0xc0000005 Parameter 2 : 0x9afe4e42 Parameter 3 : 0xba029a2c Parameter 4 : 0x00000000 Caused By Driver : win32k.sys Caused By Address : win32k.sys+44e42 File Description : Multi-User Win32 Driver Product Name : Microsoft® Windows® Operating System Company : Microsoft Corporation File Version : 6.1.7600.16385 (win7_rtm.090713-1255) Processor : 32-bit Crash Address : win32k.sys+44e42 Stack Address 1 : win32k.sys+cbb3e Stack Address 2 : win32k.sys+b6106 Stack Address 3 : win32k.sys+d1d85 Computer Name : Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\070912-44647-01.dmp Processors Count : 2 Major Version : 15 Minor Version : 7601 Dump File Size : 145,720 ================================================== ================================================== Dump File : 070212-52119-01.dmp Crash Time : 7/2/2012 8:13:23 AM Bug Check String : KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED Bug Check Code : 0x1000008e Parameter 1 : 0xc0000005 Parameter 2 : 0x822146a3 Parameter 3 : 0xae4aafac Parameter 4 : 0x00000000 Caused By Driver : win32k.sys Caused By Address : win32k.sys+c46a3 File Description : Multi-User Win32 Driver Product Name : Microsoft® Windows® Operating System Company : Microsoft Corporation File Version : 6.1.7600.16385 (win7_rtm.090713-1255) Processor : 32-bit Crash Address : win32k.sys+c46a3 Stack Address 1 : win32k.sys+d2b9c Stack Address 2 : win32k.sys+d9ecd Stack Address 3 : cdd.dll+14d52 Computer Name : Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\070212-52119-01.dmp Processors Count : 2 Major Version : 15 Minor Version : 7601 Dump File Size : 145,720 ================================================== ================================================== Dump File : 062512-21528-01.dmp Crash Time : 6/25/2012 10:22:59 AM Bug Check String : BAD_POOL_HEADER Bug Check Code : 0x00000019 Parameter 1 : 0x00000003 Parameter 2 : 0xb5fcf1f8 Parameter 3 : 0xb5fcf1f8 Parameter 4 : 0x00000000 Caused By Driver : ntkrnlpa.exe Caused By Address : ntkrnlpa.exe+121996 File Description : NT Kernel & System Product Name : Microsoft® Windows® Operating System Company : Microsoft Corporation File Version : 6.1.7601.17803 (win7sp1_gdr.120330-1504) Processor : 32-bit Crash Address : ntkrnlpa.exe+121996 Stack Address 1 : ntkrnlpa.exe+12135f Stack Address 2 : ntkrnlpa.exe+222939 Stack Address 3 : ntkrnlpa.exe+2226de Computer Name : Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\062512-21528-01.dmp Processors Count : 2 Major Version : 15 Minor Version : 7601 Dump File Size : 145,720 ================================================== |

| Caused By Driver : CI.dll Caused By Driver : Ntfs.sys Caused By Driver : win32k.sys Some reasons for Blue Screens New hardware - Software installed. Device driver - Video driver - corrupted - faulty. Faulty Ram - Overheating - Dying hard drive etc. But where the blue screen error is reported, is not necessarily where it first started and may not be the cause. Check Device manager - a driver may need updating. Click the + sign against all entries to expand what is listed. Look for exclamtion marks. How to access Device Manager. http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000833.htm Run SFC /SCANNOW http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...ompt-boot.html Run a Mem Test. http://www.memtest86.com/download.html http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp Download the ISO file from one of the links above to your desktop. Then burn the ISO to a Cd. Start the Pc using the Cd and run the memory test overnight or for at least 8 passes. It is best to run a full scan on individual Ram sticks if you can. Or run the test but if any errors are shown - then remove all sticks of Ram and test each Ram stick one at a time. Guide to using Memtest86+ http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic207910.html ----- You can also run the Mem test from a USB stick http://www.memtest.org/#downiso Scroll down to [Download (Pre-built & ISOs] Download -Auto-installer for USB Key (Win 9x/2k/xp/7) *NEW!* Check and post TSG System Information Utility - found here. http://library.techguy.org/wiki/TSG_Valuable_links |
