Hi guys,

I've seen a few posts on these forums regarding similar error messages to mine. I have sporadic BSODs from windows, often while playing WoW but occasionally when browsing or even idle. They seem to happen most often when the computer room gets hot. I have used CPUID Hardware monitor and never see any of the temps go above 75.

The most common error messages are IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I have also seen KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT and others.

Please let me know what other information I can provide.

Hi and welcome.
Some reasons for Blue Screens
New hardware - Software installed.
Device driver - Video driver - corrupted - faulty.
Faulty Ram - Overheating - Dying hard drive etc.

Download > install.
Once it has scanned > Click on Edit > Select All > File > Save Selected Item
It will open in Notepad - or save to Notepad > Copy > Paste and then Post the last 5 minidump files

Caused By Driver : ntoskrnl.exe - a generic error and not telling us much.

First run a Mem Test.

Download the ISO file from one of the links above to your desktop.
Then burn the ISO to a Cd.
Start the Pc using the Cd and run the memory test overnight or for at least 8 passes.

It is best to run a full scan on individual Ram sticks if you can.
Or run the test but if any errors are shown - then remove all sticks of Ram and test each Ram stick one at a time.

Caused By Driver : afd.sys
The afd.sys is usually Network related.

Check Device Manager - drivers may need updating.
Click the + sign against all entries to expand what is listed.
Look for exclamtion marks against all entries including Network Adapter

Sorry for the wait, I was finally able to run memtest86 on both sticks of ram. One finished 16 passes without an error, while the other encountered a single error. I take it I should no longer use the latter? If I get more RAM, does it have to be the same make/model to operate without further problems?

Run the scan at Crucial - this will tell you what type of Ram is installed.
You can then buy the needed Ram stick, from your local Pc shop.

Did you check Device Manager - you may need to update some drivers?

There was nothing flagged in device manager, is there any other way to check, as I don't believe I've updated most drivers since getting the machine (other than the video card)

It is best to only update drivers if they are needed - never use an online driver scan or download a driver update program.
They often find old, outdated drivers.
