Which services can I close?
Which services on Win 7 can I close without problems?

Is there any service which does the system slow down extremely?

His "Safe" list is a good place to start, but I disagree with all the services that he suggests to disable.

It's much safer to set the "startup type" in those services to Manual.

Personally, I never touch "Microsoft" services at all. Not much to be gained anyway, and can cause more harm than good.

Okay, so I would do it this way...

Then it seems to be the best not to change anything there.

If you wish to change some services to Manual, I would suggest doing so with some of your non-Microsoft services only, from programs you have installed yourself. If you find a program not working properly on Manual, you can always change it back to Automatic at any time.

OK, but as you said, it doesn't seem to be worth it when there will not much be gained. So I will better let it untouched.

Well, it can stop a few unnecessary processes from running in the background for nothing. That can sometimes help speed things up a bit, but it really depends on how much memory those processes really use. If they don't use much, it won't change anything if you modify those services.

OK, I assume, there will not be processes / services (especially of Windows), which use that much memory / CPU, so I will do not change anything because of the risk causing problems by stopping, changing services etc.

Many thanks for helping.
