I would do a System Restore by going to Control Panel > Recovery > Restore your files, and restore your PC to a date & time earlier than when the problem began. And then don't download any more free files using utorrent.

If system restore doesnt fix it for you..you need to get rid of the malware you picked up..by some serious scanners.

But...if it was me and I only had the machine for 2 weeks..I would go ahead and reformat it....cant be too many settings etc after only 2 weeks.

I agree with Brett go with the reformat. It was probably pre-loaded with a bunch of crapware when you first bought it anyway. Be careful of torrents as many of them contain viruses and malware. Look for torrents with plenty of seeders and comments. Usually I run a quick virus scan on any torrents before installing them.

I would try System Restore and repost here if that does not work.

Formatting and reloading drivers is no simple matter especially for a beginner and probably on a machine which did not come with an install disk.

There may be other full recovery methods -- such as a hidden partition or other means which would require you to consult your vendor manual to use -- if it comes to that.

Is this a custom built pc? or one of the big manufactures such as hp dell etc.....many of the dells hp etc have a recovery partition..making it a very easy task to start over again
