Windows 7 freezing
Ok I installed Windows 7 when it came out on the 22nd and it's been running great. Two weeks ago it started freezing randomly and I have no idea why. It just froze on me again this morning and I decided to finally go online and ask for help.

It usually freezes when I'm on the internet. I use firefox and use the WUSB54GC version 3 wireless adapter. Right before my computer freezes and I see the blue screen I lose connection to the internet. I am wondering if my wireless adapter could be cause an issue.

I run Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Is their anything I can do to see what causes Windows 7 to freeze?

Thanks for your time

Can you explain in more detail?

What exactly are you doing when it freezes?

ok well it happened today while I was surfing the web with firefox. I was on facebook and when I tried to comment on someone's status it said I lost connection to the Internet and then I tried to type in google.com but it didn't work either. My computer then froze and the blue screen popped up. It said something about if any recent hardware has been installed then uninstall it.
After I rebooted it my wireless adapter wasn't recognized by Windows so I had to reinstall it.

Oh, so you are getting a bsod

go to C:\Windows\Minidump
Copy the .dmp files in there and zip them up, attach the zip file in your next post using the "Go Advanced" button, then click the paper clip icon to browse and attach the zip, then hit the upload button.

Probably caused by : USBPORT.SYS

Quote:
MULTIPLE_IRP_COMPLETE_REQUESTS (44)
A driver has requested that an IRP be completed (IoCompleteRequest()), but
the packet has already been completed. This is a tough bug to find because
the easiest case, a driver actually attempted to complete its own packet
twice, is generally not what happened. Rather, two separate drivers each
believe that they own the packet, and each attempts to complete it. The
first actually works, and the second fails. Tracking down which drivers
in the system actually did this is difficult, generally because the trails
of the first driver have been covered by the second. However, the driver
stack for the current request can be found by examining the DeviceObject
fields in each of the stack locations.
Arguments:
I think this one is beyond my debugging skills, sorry I don't know what to suggest.

Dang, could it have anything to do with my linksys adapter software? After it freezes and I restart the computer it no longer works so I have to reinstall it, could that be part of the problem right there?

A possibility I suppose. Don't reinstall it next time, see if the bsod stops.

I don't recommend any registry optimizers, they cause more problems than they fix.
