Laserjet 1100 a not working with Window7
I have used my most reliable HP Laserjet 1100a with most Windows versions right up to Vista with no problem just changing drivers. I just updated to Windows 7 and checked that they support this printer but cannot get it to work. I installed, downloaded the driver from updates, but no success. Tried reinstalling, still no sucess. Any help from anyone who has had success with installing this printer ( I know alot of people still use it, its a workhorse of reliability for home use!) would be appreciated. Any ideas? thank you.

Try turning off UAC when installing the software. Turn it back on when done.

Problem solved!
Thanks Mumbodog, although the info you gave me wasn't what was wrong, still very useful...The problem was my own doing, trying to install the printer on LPT1 (the default) vs the actual active port LPT 3...now all is well. Thanks again.
