Solved: Open windows flash and flicker on screen
Hi guys,

I am using Windows 7 and have discovered a rather annoying problem over the last couple of weeks. When using explorer.exe and firefox i notice that the windows start flickering, this is also present while using winamp.

I may have two or three explorer windows open, with firefox and winamp running and when i try and switch between windows they start flickering. If i am in the desktop in windows explorer and switch tabs to firefox, the desktop will pop back up and flicker and when i do get to firefox, i try and click and it does not respond. The words (not responding) pop up next to firefox up the top of the screen over and over. I have also observed with winamp running, in the bottom toolbar it refreshes alot, the icon in the toolbar moves to the left like it has been opened again. This behaviour has also been observed with Google Chrome. It is almost like windows keeps refreshing the open windows.

I am also running the same Windows 7 on my EeePC 1005 and have not had one issue which makes me think this may be a hardware issue.

I don't have all my PC specs on me as i am at work but Windows 7 scores a 4.9 on the ratings.

I have 4gb of RAM and i know the processor is dual core and the video card is the Galaxy 8600 GT.

Thanks for any help given.

I actually have the SAME exact problem.

I would LOVE a solution to this. I'm still trying to figure it out my self.

If anyone finds anything, please do tell.

I concluded that this problem was Malware as i checked my system restore and all my restore points had been removed. I ran multiple virus and malware scans and all drew blanks.

Unfortunately the only way to solve it was to format, and while installing my programs i made an effort to make regular restore points just in case it was one of my programs causing the problem. So far i have not had this issue return.

May have to just bite the bullet, it worked for me. Hope that helps.

Ohh. Damn. I usually delete all my Restore Points as it just wastes all my HDD space.

Oh well, Guess I have to reformat my computer.

Thanks for letting me know.
