Help finding outlook email messages after installing Windows 7
I recently installed Windows 7 Home Premium from Windows Home Vista. I installed Live mail as I was using the live mail beta in Vista and liked it as it captures all my emails from other email providers. There was no problem loading my hotmail and gmail accounts but when I loaded my Outlook email it didn't load my old folders containing tons of info and emails. Probably because I moved all the data from my primary drive to a secondary drive before installing Windows 7 as a clean load. I suspect the files are on the secondary drive in a windows.old folder, but I do not know how to find them. any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Did you copy the entire contents of the primary drive to the secondary drive or just some of the folders?

Search your secondary drive for files with a .PST file name extension. Be sure your search includes system and hidden files and folders.

Thanks CW. I ran the search, not sure how to do one revealing hidden folders and files though, and ended up with numerous entries with PST in them. Not sure which of them are the ones and even less sure how to migrate them into my currrent email in Windows 7. In windows 7 what is the path to the pst files? Sorry to bother, but I would really like to find the files. tx

Glad to hear that you found the PST files. Depending on how you had your Outlook folders structured on the old computer, you could have been using more than one PST file.

Sorry to report that I have no idea how to migrate or import your PST files into whatever e-mail program you are using with Windows 7. Somebody else here should be able to help you out with that part. Unless you installed Outlook on your new computer, I don't think that there is any path to PST files in Windows 7. As far as I know, PST files are only used by more recent versions of Outlook (2003 and 2007). Outlook Express and its reincarnations use different file types.
