Sorry if that added to your frustration. (No sarcasm intended!) The manual way is well documented, on this site and generally on the web, which is why I did not repeat it. However, there is an easier way, also published here several times, which might interest you. Use it with caution, it is a little too easy to use. I have attached the file. If you run it, it inserts a line into the registry. The result is that you then have a right click drop down option to "Take ownership", on any file or folder.
