Question A window within a window
I heard it could be done have like one OS and another one in a file so you can have two OS on one computer. i don't mean duel boot.

Yes, with a virtualization program.

VirtualPC
VirtualBox
VMWare Workstation

it says add XP to 7 can I put 7 on my xp OS ?

Huh? What are you reading?

Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate offer a Windows XP mode which uses Microsoft VirtualPC. That's not the same thing as the download I posted a link to.

Yes, you can run Windows 7 in a virtual environment on Windows XP as long as you have a full license, not an upgrade, for Windows 7.

EDIT: I see that Microsoft changed their VirtualPC link to point to Windows XP Mode for Windows 7. Disregard and use the updated link. It's completely unrelated to Windows 7.

reading more on that and see that you can't use XP home. You need XP professional

That's with VirtualPC. I don't know if that applies to VirtualBox and VMWare.
