tv tuner BSODs - IRQL less than or not equal to...
I'm not sure whether I'm posting this in the right forum, so I apologize if I've made a mistake. And I'm not sure whether the reason is because of the Winfast DTV1000 S either, but worth asking.

I have had Windows 7 x64 Home Premium installed for around a week now and have already experienced 3 or 4 bsods during the week. I'm thinking that it is relevant to my tv tuner card or winfast pvr2 software, because prior to the bsod, it is always and only winfast pvr2 that locks up.

The latest bsod gave me: ""IRQL less than or not equal to..." or something like that.

Previously, I had Vista x64 Ultimate for a long time and I never recieved a bsod, apart from 2 random ones when I was doing nothing. Now I get it when I happen to be running winfast pvr2.

Here is the information about the bsod from a report windows 7 gave me:

What could be the problem? It's quite annoying. Thanks for any help

Have you installed the latest Windows 7 driver and PVR app from the Leadtek website?

They have a 7 only driver which leads me to think there is something special about it that may not be in the Vista driver.

I have a Q6600-based Dell that has a Leadtek DTV1000S and DTV1800H in it and have BSOD's under the Windows 7 64-bit retail version. I only use Windows Media Center (not PVR2) and the BSOD's usually happen when I pause playback and try to go straight to live TV. Has also happened when in paused playback, recording in progress, and the PC tries to go to sleep.

Previously using the same hardware with W7 RC 32-bit I had problems retaining channel tuning past a reboot. I "fixed" that by substituting a Vista driver for the DTV1000S card and it worked perfectly for months.

With the current 64-bit, thinking it was also the fault of the DTV1000S I substituted a Vista driver but have had only a slight improvement in stability.

What I have noticed with that last change is that when changing channels the picture is "restored" much faster than before - more like it was running the old W7RC.

I'm thinking of returning to 32-bit if I can't resolve this.

Well, since nobody's responded - I switched to the 32-bit version and no problems so far. Still using an older Vista driver for the DTV1000S card instead of either the W7 update driver or Leadtek's - same setup I successfully used for the 32-bit RC.
