Question WIndows 7 crashes right after installment
hello,

i have a problem with getting Windows 7 build 7100, i install it perfectly, everything goes well and when it gets to the "Preparing your desktop" screen, the screen says logging off and immediately after that shutting down.... and when i boot my pc again a black screen appears and has different codes, i am running XP at the moment, and i have a quad core, intel DG41TY mother board, 2GB's RAM, and a nVidia 9800 Graph card, i have tried everything that i could think of.
please help me.

That's the Release Candidate. Way past time to buy the real thing.

Your post states that you boot your machine after it logs off. After logging off and shutting down it should restart itself. Maybe it's the way you wrote it.

If it's build 7100, then yes it is the Release Candidate. The build should be 7600.
Where did you get the install disc from??

run Windows 7 upgrade advisor from XP & see what drivers it is missing or needs

I suspect it will be a raid driver

Just a thought! Did you uninstall the rc copy before installing the new one? I am sure that was one of the instructions from Microsoft.

Thanks. That clears up a lot. From my experience with my HP dv6500z I can verify that the RC and released versions don't have the same set of drivers, so dvk01's advice has an excellent chance of pointing you towards a solution.

Windows 7 automatically activates after 3 days, so be careful that it doesn't activate on the other computer unless you bought two licenses with it.
