Check the monitor cable connections. Check the monitor with another computer and/or another computer with this monitor.

However, the computer should still boot even if the monitor is not displaying anything, so there must be additional problems. Maybe the motherboard has died.

All is well now. :: Hubby Jack tinkered with it and forced it to boot, and now its functioning fine...except for another problem that has cropped up that I will address separately.

Thumbs down Grrrrrr
Flash forward to this morning, and I had the same blankety-blank problem I did before...the monitor won't recognize the signal and goes back to sleep. Hubby had me turn off the CPU and reboot while holding down the F-two...can't type numbers either dammit...key, which took me into Safe Mode and eventually it booted. I can't live with that.

Is there a way to avoid the need for Safe Mode every time I boot my computer? And I still need my NUMBERS BACK, but that's another thread I'm working on here.

Here's another little piece of info that might be helpful. When I close Windows 8 [using keypad for numbers now] down at night, I get this error message:
winlogon.exe - No Disk
There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into Drive F.

The only choices are CANCEL, TRY AGAIN, and CONTINUE. Only CANCEL works, and sometimes it takes several tries before it continues to the MONITOR GOING TO SLEEP screen. The other two choices do absolutely nothing.

What does this mean? Windows 8 was a download, and there is no disk.

Mate, Just forget it since it's still a beta and install back Windows 7.

I dumped W8 and did a fresh install of W7 almost a month ago. You're almost a month late with your reply.
