ipconfig command keeps opening
Hi, I'm runnig W98 and I'm trying to setup netgear wireless pci card and setup went ok and when I went to setup connection it keeps scanning and it will find a connection on channel 1 but doesn't stay there to connect to internet it will continue to scan. And when I ctrl+alt+del there are like 10 ipconfig commands open up any ideas?? Please someone , I'm am tired of talking to someone I can't understand and doesn't know what they are talking about (I'm talking about netgear support)...plz help
I have another computer also hooked up through our router

Once the set-up stops scanning, it shows all the available connections; you can choose one of them to be the one it has to connect to and exclude all others. Did you miss that set-up screen by any chance? Don't Ctrl-Alt-Del until it is completely finished with scanning.

And, more info, please. Is this a laptop? And, is it Win98SE? The second edition had better network stuff.

Sorry I had just finished setting up Netgear card and it scanned and found the available network and I signed on and connected ok but it will stop on that channel and then it continues to keep going . I don't get the internet connected sign... So I hope that helps because I still did not figure it out yet, although I haven't had a whole lot of time to work on it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. We have used this card before on different computers fine.

Well cards fail after a while so that might be the case. But, are you using Netgear's software to detect the connection or Windows? And, when you initially set it up, did you set up security on it?
