Many error messages ""This program has performed an illegal...
I've been getting many error messages saying "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down..."
It does not matter what program I'm running I get this way to often. I can no longer access MSN.com, but can access other websites.

I have Windows 98 SE and have run SuperAnti spyware V4.0.1154 and CCleaner V.2.06.567.
Please check this Hijack report and see if there is anything I'm missing that is harming this computer. I used the HP Pavilion recovery disk today after windows became corrupt.

I didn't move anything.

Posted to move, but probably the moderators thought it wasn't necessary.

Please explain... is the error message related to your internet browser?

error messages
ZEE,

Thanks for getting back to me. My computer is so messed up, when I try your link from email to the post I get the error message. I'm using my wife's computer to respond to you!

Yes, my current problems seem to be realted to the intrenet and "I Explore"
" I Explore - This program has performed an illegal operation..."

Next error message is from Microsoft Internet Explorer - "There was an internal error and one of the windows you were using will be closed."

Here's the details of the above error message.
IEXPLORE caused an invalid page fault in
module MSHTML.DLL at 0167:7ad487db.
Registers:
EAX=004ff5ff CS=0167 EIP=7ad487db EFLGS=00010a07
EBX=800113f5 SS=016f ESP=011ed184 EBP=011ed1b8
ECX=7ad87cb0 DS=016f ESI=0128a1e0 FS=5fbf
EDX=011ed1b4 ES=016f EDI=0128a260 GS=0000

FYI - Yesterday I had the error messages listing many operations - Spool 32, mstask, runonce, but these seemed to have stopped and it's all about "iexplore" now.

Thanks again,

Have you updated SUPERAntispyware and ran a full system scan?

You are also running an outdated version of Internet Explorer, why not update it to IE6 SP1?

You could also remove some items from your start up list 04 in your log.
All 98se needs at startup are.
Scan Registry.
System Tray.
Anti-virus program.
Firewall.
Check.
http://www.netsquirrel.com/msconfig/...98_and_ME.html
http://sysinfo.org/startuplist.php

Check out some of them with sysinfo.org before unchecking.
