Can't shut down Presario 5441, W98SE
Have been through the usual Windows "Can't shut down" tools and strategies with no luck. Have had these problems before on other machines, of course, but have always (eventually) solved them. I've even re-installed Win98SE - over the top of the existing one - and that didn't help either. An oddity never experienced before, moreover, is that I cannot even shut the machine down with the power switch on the front of the cabinet. When I hold it in for a few seconds the machine will reboot rather than power off. Go figger! Any and all suggestions will be appreciated, guys and gals.

Go through this troubleshooter:

WINDOWS SHUTDOWN & RESTART CENTER
WINDOWS 98 SECOND EDITION

Good luck,

Zee
