wireless card problem
hello i have a vintage toshiba tecra cdt 500 running win 98se . i can't get it to recognize my wireless card even when iuse the cards install cd.it recognizes the wired ethernet card just fine. how can i get this machine to connect wirelessly?

Just curious, is the wireless card compatible with Windows 98se? I would double check the system requirements.

yes it says it is when i run the install disk but when i run the add new hardware wizard as per instructions it is not recognized.

Did you try both PCMCIA slots? The adapter may be compatible with Windows 98, but you're working with some really old hardware. The slot may not be compatible or it may not be providing enough power. Or the PCMCIA bus could be shot.

You could try spelling out all the steps you're taking starting with "First I insert the card.". Be as detailed and descriptive as possible. Include any and all error messages, prompts, and subsequent actions.
