Hello,

Here in Portugal we say : good evening. It is indeed 20.59 Day 19th of July. If I remember well my courses at school, in the USA you have already the 20th and I have to say : good morning. Funny, we communicate, on line on two different days and at different hours.

No, I never had a Win 95. My first computer was a 286AT the good old DOS in command. When I updated the machine to a 386AT I kept the DOS and added PCTools, for me in fact a kind of father to the first Windows system. In fact you could do anything with this system, even open programs and adapt programs (being a professional programmer of course).
And then I got Windows 3.
Then came a second hand 486AT with one of the earlier version of WIN98.
A friend of mine bought a new computer and I got his HP Vectra....Pentium 2. I had to cannibalize the two older comp's to complete the vectra. I installed a Win98 and there we go ! Here had had to say good bye to my PCTOOLS, 98 refused to cooperate.
Came the time of the win 98SE and finaly the 98 Plus.
Now I have a really new computer and this was the end of 98 : win XP Pro on board.
A I heard a lot of bad news about Vista , XP is there for a lot of time.

Was there a big difference between 95 and the 98 ?

I have still my Vectra.

Have a nice day

Greetings

Orion

I use Windows 95 on an old computer that still works downstairs! It is not connected to the internet, but I love to use it to play games such as Megarace 1 & 2. I use Windows Vista for everything else.

Hello to you too Yeller Puma.

By the way, I was asking myself : why did I choose Orion as a name on a forum.
Simple : I like Astronomy and all kind of things related to our universe and the science around it.

A Puma is a rather nice feline ... and this big cat Yelling?
I must admit that a don't know much of the animal world.
If the question isn't indiscrete : why the choice for Yeller Puma.

I know this is not in the right department... but your "Hello Orion was a bit mysterious. and I have a curious nature.

Cheers !

everyone to his own opinion, BTW, I don't use Windows 95 myself.

orion963,

Sorry for calling you Orion, I didn't mean any offense. Maybe I should have stated your full user name?

I once read a book called Old Yeller. It was about a yellow dog that hunted with its master. I also like pumas. So I have Yeller + Puma. Just like you enjoy astronomy and so your user name is orion963.

Have a great day!

Hello Yeller Puma,
I wasn't offended you know.
Ivisited your city again and saw that the 6 is still there and that nothing changed in your city. What did I wrong ? Or must that nephew of mine also do something.
Have a nice day
