Uninstall Vista Transformation pack
I installed Vista Transformation Pack (VTP6) last month, and I decided to uninstall it, (frequent lock-ups, unstability). I selected the REMOVE option in the installer, rebooted, my Bootscreen still says Vista EVEN AFTER I used the System resource hacker to replace the ntoskrnl.exe file. When i do CTRL+ALT+DEL, it says Windows Vista in the panel where I can select Task manager etc... Also, some of the Icons are still remaining as Vista icons...Any ideas?????????

use system restore from a restore point dated prior to the VTP installation.

Try the system file checker:

start, run: SFC /SCANNOW ... and have your xp cdrom handy.

When you install VTP, it backs up all of you settings in the folderfolder in C:\VTP (I think, it might be under C:\Program Files\VTP). To uninstall VTP completely, you should open the VTP Welcome Center and click on the uninstall option. I will ask you where to look for the original files and settings. Click the browse button and then choose C:\VTP (I think, it might be under C:\Program Files\VTP). Windows will restore all of the XP graphics including the folder graphics and the bootscreen. When you boot for the first time after uninstalling VTP, Windows will display the Display Properties-Appearance screen. Under "Windows and Buttons" choose "Windows XP style." This will restore all of your settings. (The first time you start the computer after uninstalling VTP, it will still show the Vista bootscreen but after that, it will display the XP bootscreen)
