Exclamation Random reboots, crash errors
Alright so heres the issue, I had aquired a Trojan-spy.win32@mx. And i went through the process of deleting it. Which was quite long and annoying. Now however my computer randomly decides it feels like rebooting. Ive ran Chkdsk /f, and even did a non destructive restore. And nothing has helped, so im stuck here in safemode till i can get some help. Best buy wants to charge me $129 dollars to fix it, but who has that kind of money for them to run a few things? SO please guys if you could help it would be great.

Hello & Welcome to Tech Guy Forum.

Which malware did you remove?

I think you need to click on the red / white triangle in the dark blue bar; ask a moderator to transfer your thread to the malware removal forum.
Be sure to read the 1st thread in that forum, a stickie by dvk1.

It may take 24+ hours for a malware removal expert to respond. Be patient.

After the malware removal expert has finished, if your problem persists, they will transfer you back to this forum. You may need to remind the malware removal expert to do that for you, if you still have problems.

Sometimes, when malware infests our computers, files essential to Windows are damaged / corrupted. Sometimes this can be fixed easily.

Sometimes, the only fix is re-format; re-install.

So, while you are waiting for the antimalware expert, begin copying your data to CDs, DVDs, flash drives, or another HDD. Usually, I recommend cloning, using Acronis True Image www.acronis.com , but with a system that is probably still infected, you might re-infect your system, after the malware removal experts have cleaned your system.

Best of success.

Download 'Hijack This!
http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en...ols/hijackthis

*Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop or the folder of your choice.

Restart your computer.

*Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
*By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
*Click on Install.
*It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
*Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
*Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log *should open in notepad.
The log is generally saved in C:\program files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.
*Click on "File". Click on "save as". Save the file as "date"_HJT

Restart your computer.

Open the HJT log.
Select & copy the text.

Return to this thread.
Paste the contents in a reply.

It's rare that you have just one form of malware so you are probably still infected. See if you can get your computer to boot in safed mode.

k:
Is this a desktop or laptop?

Do you mean that the computer shutdown; turns off; has no power? Or do you mean that the computer is not usable.

If you were able to use KNOPPIX, that is good news; that the problem is probably Windows related & not hardware related.

Recently, I tired to use KNOPPIX, in your type of situation, but couldn't write to a flash drive. I started at thread at the Linux forum.

www.acronis.com for a download. I don't know the cost of a bootable CD. Check vendors, in you are in the United States of America, such as Office Max; Office Depot; Staples; Best Buy; Circuit City.

Please expound upon: "Its dying in safemode too now.".

then hit f8 to ge the boot menu, hit f8 again and choose don't automatically restart on system error. This should produce a blue screen and will provide us with more information.
