Angry Can't repair using XP CDs
Hi Guys,

Trying to repair WIN XP by putting the WIN XP SP 2 cds on my dvdrom.

But i got this error message...

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen,
restart your computer. If this screen apperars again, follow
these steps:

Check your viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or
hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured
and terminated.

Technical information:

*** STOP : 0x00000007B (0xF898C524,0xC000034,0x0000000 )

Any solution to repair it ?

Thanx

What have you done recently, as in installed programs or changes to registry or anything like that.

I have received many of those errors before i got my computer back running Windows XP. I couldn't even run windows. I had a bad partition boot record and i just used the "fixboot" option in the XP recovery console to create a new boot sector on the C:\ and it worked. I don't think your problem is with the partition table. You should hit F12 and change your boot options to cd-drive first as long as you have a cd-drive if it's just dvd-rom then use that first and then try and boot to the Windows XP CD and make sure you hit enter when ti says it's booting to CD then it will load up all your drivers. I would press R and go into the recovery console and run chkdsk /r and see what it says? type in exit to restart the computer. You may have to do a recovery install of Windows XP.
