You installed the service packs one on top of the other and have all O23 services disabled (which is not normal) so who knows what is going on?

You're severely hindering the overall performance of your Dell Dimension 3000 desktop by having only 256 MB of RAM in it. According to the CRUCIAL site, that desktop supports up to 2,048 MB of RAM. I would highly recommend that you increase the amount to at least 512 MB, and preferably to 1,024 MB.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

None of the startup entries in the O4 list in your HijackThis log need to load during startup and run in the background.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are you planning to install an antivirus program?

No one uses this computer. It just sits there. I thought it would be worth giving it a try.

The entire purpose of this test was to see the speeds of the CPU when there is northing else on the computer with different Service Packs. It is not to show the Dell Dimension 3000's performance.

Please remember that the results will vary depending on your system specs. This was just a computer that I found in the basement and don't use.
