Solved: Cyclic Redundancy Error
Tried restoring GF's old gateway laptop and upon the "installation of windows", I get the cyclic redundancy error message. I know the drive works fine b/c I am able to boot up a software disc from work (geek squad). I tried another OEM OS and it keeps going to "resuming install" screen and displaying the same error message. I think it may be on a loop.

How do I fully restart the installation process of XP from step 1?

Could you just format the drive and start over?

i don't think that you can restart the installation of an OS..
1.You have to format..or repair the old OS.

2.Regarding "Cyclic Redundancy" Error..it could be a disc problem..try making an image of the CD and then installing it from a virtual drive...or get another disc [works best after step 1 above]
