The "169" of Death!
So after restoring my GF's old Gateway laptop, installing all drivers, and receiving all of Microsoft's updates, I installed a wireless PCMCIA card (Net Gear WPN511). I am able to connect to the router, but it cannot aquire the IP address due to a wireless IP addy of:

169.254.216.64

If I recall, that's just an auto IP error address right? Well since then I tried to:

-Renew IP and "DHCP times out".
-Reset TCP/IP to no avail.

Whats lost in translation?
