Exclamation Solved: New install of sp3 No sound.
I know your'e going to tell me to go read the forums. I have I promise. I have read so many forums on this subject I feel like i could teach a lecture.

Please please if anyone knows how to deal with this issue that has repeatedly come up for people, but can explain to me in very very simple laymens terms how to fix it I would be so very grateful.

I had Vista, I hated it so I installed a copy of WIndows XP SP3 I had. I have had no audio and belarc wouldnt even recognise the existance of a soundcard.

After attempting the fixes suggested on other threads here and elsewhere I managed to get microsoft uaa function driver for high definition audio - Adi 1983 to show up in my device manager, but it has a yellow ! exclamation mark.

still no sound.
