XP boot advanced issue - any help appreciated
Hey guys I'll try to keep this short but first let me thank you for any help.

Here goes, the other day I booted up my PC and it showed "windows can not boot, ntfs.sys is missing or corrupt" so I did this. Microsoft support

I replaced the file in the recovery console and everything copied over fine.

Then I booted up again and I received an error message before windows displayed my login screen --lsass.exe "endpoint is invalid" click ok and my computer reboots. Windows at that time was booting all the way up though. I found this support article but did not help Microsoft support

This error does not allow me to boot into safe mode or regular windows but I can get into the recovery console.

Any help is appreciated

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13Ghz

When trying to get into Recovery Console it is asking for Admin Password, not your regular Windows Password. Did you have one? If not as most do not, use nothing and just click and it should go by.
I would then run chkdsk /r and then boot back to Recovery Console and do fixboot and then fix mbr and you should be fine.
You could pass the first "R" and choose new install then choose the next "r" for repair and that could repair the registry as well as the whole system.

Thank you for your suggestions. As for the password I did have a password set and I have tried to use that password to login but it now says it is invalid. I leave it blank it says it is invalid also.

I have tried, admin, administrator, leaving it blank, my old password and none of those work so I can not get into the recovery console to run checkdsk.

I ran chkdsk /r many times before I tried fixing the registry and that did not help but I never played with the fixboot option as I did not believe that was the issue.

You could download the Ultimate boot cd to run checkdisk also:
