Angry Solved: Eliminate Realplayer ad on boot up
Every time I boot up I get a message to upgrade my RealPlayer to newest version. As I reported on another forum, this upgrade contains 1 Trojan, 1 worm, and 2 viruses that cannot be cleaned up and are quarantined. But, how does one eliminate this message from appearing on every new boot up? It's been months now. Do they hide it in the registry? I don't see anything new in the startup files. It is just a Damn nuisance to have this appear before you get to see your desktop icons. Please help me get this off my screen. Thank you in advance.

Yep, uninstall real player and install real alternative

Not sure, but I think that if you download the full K-lite codec pack you can play rm in Windows Media Player.

It may be Message Center causing it. That and RealUpdate are the first things I take out after installing Real Player. They're located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB. If the process RealSchedule is running you probably won't be able to delete Message Center until that's ended and completely removed from the startup menu by way of msconfig.

Thanks to dr20, that eliminated the problem. the older version already loaded works just fine. The thorn has been removed. Congrats.
