See my second post in this thread for update...

I used PartitionMagic 8.0 to create a new partition on my C: drive. I rebooted as instructed, it began its process... it got about 15% of the way through and produced an error (Error 13, I believe, I did not write it down) and asked me to press a key to reboot. I did this, and it rebooted... to a blue screen of death. Booting into safe mode will not even work.

What do I do?!

Can you boot to your partition magic disk and reverse the changes?
Can you at least see what happened?

The exact and correct error message would have helped.

I ran chkdsk, and when it rebooted, it went back into PartitionMagic... I allowed it so it would either do its duty or give me a chance to catch the error.

This time the error produced was "Error 983 - Too many errors found"

So I booted into normal Windows, and all seemed fine as usual except for a Windows Defender error. Until I tried to perform some simple actions... I cannot drag and drop folders, I can't perform a disk defragment (when I hit 'Analyze' or 'Defragment' nothing happens) or any other administrative tasks, I can't copy and paste files, my internet fails me after a few minutes, shortcuts don't work, and, most importantly, my taskbar is missing.

Looking at my processes in Task Manager, there are things missing... none of the processes (save for System Idle Process) have a User Name, and it feels like there are processes not running. that should be. Explorer.exe is running.

Also, System Restore will not run. Otherwise I would revert to the restore point I made before attempting to partition.

Honestly, at this point, it's looking like I'm going to have to reinstall Windows. But I refuse to until I excercise every possible solution, because I have over 100GB of music and around 12GB of personal files that I now CAN'T MOVE to my external hd to back up.

Please, please help me.
