Weird hesitation issue
I haven't done too much research yet, the little that I did do didn't seem to really have any effect on my issue. What's goin on is "windows" keeps pausing/freezing like for about 3-5 seconds and it happens about every 20 seconds or so... really weird.

For example most research I saw people explained this issue with ms word like when you goto type something and you can type a complete word and the cursor is froze for a few seconds then catches up and types the word out.

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head would be possible buggy video driver or some service running buggy.

The thing with me is it happens no matter what I'm doing. Movin the mouse, watching a movie, etc.

Anybody else ever experience this?

Try process explorer found here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb896653.aspx

If the CPU suddenly spikes or hardware stops your windows (the RCP calls found in process explorer) then it may be a driver causing it.

Let us know what process explorer yields while it runs and you notice the pausing/freezing.

EDIT: I must have been tired, cause I put RCP instead of DPC... omg D:

Ok I've let it run for a few minutes so far and I noticed when it pauses and freezes the Deferred Procedure Calls spike up kinda high always 50+ other then that sometimes when it freezes a few other things spike, but not high like 1.75 or something and it's usually just Services and Controller App.

By the way thanks for the info. I've used ProcessExplorer before just not much, and using it now and seeing the "search online" option I'm liking that

Thanks

Ok, sorry for my poor acronym abilities, I was going to bed and well, I was thinking something else and typing another.

The DPC spikes are more than likely faulty drivers. Unfortunately, process explorer won't exactly tell you where to look, but it points a finger to hardware. You can try starting with video card drivers and removing them then installing new updated drivers (or different working default drivers). Then proceed down the line until you find the culprit.

However, I've had DPCs occur in spikes when my laptop overheated and the bios slowed the CPU down causing tearing and major slowdown for a few seconds. Make sure your hardware isn't overheating by clogged heat sinks or other blockages.
